The morning spikes and end of day runs are what I am looking for on the intra-day charts. However, here is what I am looking for on the daily:
Technical Breakouts (Best when accompanied by earnings or other news announcement)
Bounce Plays (usually occur just after parabolic run ups or in beaten down former runners)
The opposite of morning spikes and end of day run ups also happen on the short side. Except morning panics are usually happen in much less time (few minutes) than morning spikes which can be more gradual (last up1 - 2 hours) and some times give opportunities after the initial break out (like $JVA on Friday). With morning panics either your in when it breaks down or you're on the side lines. They're that fast! These occur with in the context of:
Over extensions:
